DAY TRIPS IN AND AROUND SYDNEY

Looking to escape the city hustle, find your zen and recharge your batteries? It may just be worth your while to check out one of these fabulous locations in and around Sydney.

CLAIREVILLE

This quaint little oasis found on the northern coastal beach region of the city overlooks Pittwater. Located a short 45km from Sydney CBD. Pack a picnic, find a beautiful tree and be free. We recently spent the day here with friends and had such a magical time.  We hired stand up paddle boards which we all enjoyed, including the children. The water is amazing and perfect conditions for snorkelling, swimming and a picnic. A MUST day trip for those wishing to tune off to the cities hustle and in search of plenty of rest and relaxation.

LANE COVE NATIONAL PARK

Within close vicinity to Sydney’s city centre, this makes for a wonderful day out. Exploring historic sites along nature walks and bird watching or why not hire a canoe or paddleboat and enjoy the Lane Cove River? This is a wonderful place for a family day out and picnic.

With wonderful parklands, playground facilities for the children, beaches and kiosks, as well as wonderful walks including the Bradleys Head to Chowder Bay walk with beautiful views of Sydney Harbour from the Headlands of Taronga Zoo to Chowder Bay.

WISEMANS FERRY

This historic town is located 75km north of Sydney. Learn to waterski on the Hawkesbury river, visit the historic Wisemans Inn, which is full of history with a small museum located upstairs or enjoy a spot of fishing and picnic. Take the ferry across the river and enjoy hiking the convict trail.

BLUE MOUNTAINS

With just only over an hour drive from Sydney, the Blue Mountains makes for a wonderful day trip. So many scenic things to see such as the Three Sisters and the incredible views of the Megalong Valley. Plenty of bushwalks, even book yourself into a guided bushwalk and learn about the flora and fauna and the Indigenous Culture. For those that love to potter around shops, galleries and tea houses, Leura is just perfect for this. There are many family friendly places to dine, or pack a picnic and enjoy at one of the many locations such as Wentworth Falls and Leura Cascades. Picnic areas make for wonderful choices with great bird watching, bushwalking and the amazing views.
