The most wonderful time of the year is just around the corner, and we are getting more and more excited as the days tick on. My top three of inspiring Christmas decorations came from the memories I had of my Mother’s enormous effort to get the house looking incredible on the 1st of December, which is only a matter of weeks away! So ladies, let’s deck the halls and add in a little cinnamon, ginger and spice whilst doing so.

THE WREATH

Whether you’re city living in an apartment or in a free standing home, the wreath is the first sign of a happy Christmas home. Typically in red and green, why not switch up your colours for the Christmas season adding in your desire for a White Christmas? Look for pastel colours, matched back with silver and gold.

A STAIRCASE GARLAND

There is something incredibly elegant about a staircase Garland. Much like Judy no? Many retail stores will have miles of dried branches for your delight. I would strongly recommend visiting Basement Warehouse or Victoria’s Basement to access yards of these beautiful pieces to wrap around the balustrade. Remember to get your children involved for the final touches by adding in little birds, butterflies and hollys that can be clipped onto the leaves.

THE CENTREPIECE

However much you love the glam up on the tablescape, there is something to be said about keeping it simple and warm. Remember most of the efforts and accolades will come from your amazing cuisine, so creating an organic inspired look with berry branches and fresh fruit will delight your guests.

Embrace the outdoors since you live in a warmer climate! Unlike our northern neighbours who will need to rug up this Christmas, do a Tuscan inspired holiday table. This incorporates tried twigs, olive branches, linen napery and real fruit dotted around the table.
